Leadership has always been a characteristic attached to Chris Whitney.  From his humble beginnings in Hopkinsville, KY; his drive, determination, diligence as a scholar and athlete propelled him from Lincoln Trail College to  Clemson University and ultimately the National Basketball Association (NBA) . Chris played for 11 seasons (1993-2004) with such teams as the San Antonio Spurs, Washington Bullets/Wizards, Denver Nuggets and Orlando Magic.

 

After the NBA, Chris spent 8 years as the Director of Player Development for the Charlotte Hornets from 2010-2018 and then became an entrepreneur. His passion for community sustainability specific to addressing affordable housing led him to establish the Lincoln Real Estate Development Group, LLC., with childhood friend, Frederick Taylor.  Chris has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, most noteworthy, the Kentucky Colonel Award which is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and is the most well-known of a number of honorary colonelcies conferred by United States governors. Also, being a recipient of the Key to the City of Hopkinsville, KY was a dream come true!
